Herbal Liver Cleanse

Your liver is one of the hardest-working of all your vital organs, and it takes a lot of abuse in its day-to-day activities.

The modern environment in which we live is full of chemicals and toxic agents, and many of these are ingested by you and end up collecting in your liver.

And owning a liver full of toxins can inhibit your bodily functions and make you feel tired and sluggish.

To renew your spirit and strengthen your liver, consider an herbal liver cleanse; almost surely, you’ll be glad you did.

An herbal liver cleanse can be administered in a few different ways. You can take a pill, for one.  Some experts deprecate the use of a pill, however, saying that because the pill has to pass through the stomach en route to the liver, its herbal ingredients are always weakened by stomach acids.

Instead of a pill you could swallow a powder.  There are many advocates for the herbal liver cleanse powder, though it has its detractors as well.

The main criticism of powder is that the herbal liver cleanse ingredients do not stay in proper proportion to one another when they’re converted to powder form.

Last, there’s the oral spray herbal liver cleanse.  To take this spray, you simply lift your tongue and spray away, up to two or three times a day.  The ingredients in the spray enter your bloodstream—as opposed to your digestive track—and make their way down to your liver, where they get to work pushing out all the toxins that have been gathering.

And once your liver has been cleared out, you will find you’re digesting your foods easier.  In addition, you may find you have more energy.  One of the main functions of the human liver is the conversion of fats to energy, and therefore when the liver is functioning at its highest capacity you’re getting the most energy you can.  (Of course, to really get the most benefits out of your herbal liver cleanse you might want to try cutting back on alcohol and fatty foods as well.)

Herbal Colon Cleanse Recipe

There are many ways to administer a colon cleanse orally, but teas and smoothies taste the best.

Now, you can buy ready-made colon cleanse packets at health food stores, but if you’re feeling creative, or you want something that pleases your palette, you might be best off making your own colon cleanse.

You can search books or the Internet for recipes, but how can you be sure you’ve found the best herbal colon cleanse recipe for you?

When scouring for the right herbal colon cleanse recipe, you need to make sure that certain herbs are included in the drink you’re about to make.

You first want to make sure that any herbal colon cleanse recipe that you choose has an herb that will stimulate the bowels into swift action.(Cayenne is a good example of such an herb.)

Next, you want an herb such as wormwood that can enter your intestines and clear them out—that is, stimulate the intestine to release all of the toxins that have been building up in there over time.  An herb that will act as a bulking agent (like flaxseed) will also help you to clear out the intestines.

Finally, it’s not enough to just eliminate any harmful materials in your intestines and bowels; for maximum results you want to replace these toxins with bacteria that will be helpful to your digestive processes.  For this to happen, go for herbs that act as “probiotic supplements,” or supplements that stimulate the growth of healthy bacteria.

Not only should the herbal colon cleanse recipe you choose explain what each of the included herbs do so that you know you’ll have the best possible cleanse, your herbal colon cleanse recipe should also include detailed instructions as to how to prepare the drink.

You’ll want to follow these instructions carefully, too: a cleanse that is too powerful could wipe you out completely and lead to dehydration, or worse.  If you’re unsure about a certain recipe, check with your doctor to make sure it doesn’t contain any potentially harmful combinations of herbs, or any ingredients you might be allergic to.

Herbal Colonic

An herbal colonic is basically a means of cleaning out your colon using herbal materials.  These colonics are not a substitute for healthy eating and exercise, but they do have an important function all their own.

They can clean out all of the harmful toxins that have been building up inside your body, thus helping to stave off disease in a way that diet and exercise alone cannot.

And, in the process, they can help restore energy to an individual who may have been feeling at least slightly sluggish for quite some time.

In fact, many people report feeling as good as new and younger than they’ve felt in a long while after receiving one of these treatments.

Traditionally, when people imagine getting an herbal colonic they envision the procedure known as a hydro colonic.  When people undergo a hydro colonic, the specialist will insert a hose into one of their main openings—and I’m not referring to their mouths—and then pump in the herbal liquid.

This herbal colonic will then go to work purifying that person’s system and organs.  But more and more now there are other kinds of colonics available on the market, options that are especially good for people who might be embarrassed or uncomfortable about having the above procedure performed on them.  For example, you could take an herbal supplement (orally) every day.

You might not feel the effects of the supplement the same way you would feel completely refreshed after a hydro colonic, but these effects will last longer.  As you are ingesting the supplement every day, your system and your vital organs are thus continually being cleaned.  Therefore you will have a perpetually clean colon and, after all, how many people can say that about themselves?

One final note about the herbal colonic: You may be experiencing a problem with a certain organ.  Maybe you are feeling kidney pains, or maybe your liver is not functioning quite as well as it could be.  In that case, you’ll want to look into making sure your herbal colonic contains certain herbal combinations that will really target the afflicted organ.

Herbal Detox: The Basics

Few joys in life compare with that of an herbal detox.  If you introduce into your life such a detoxification, you will feel energetic and excited at once, as though you had stumbled upon the mythical Fountain of Youth.

Indeed, whenever you feel more tired than usual, as though you’re dragging around extra weight all of a sudden, it might be time for this procedure.  (They can be done up to two or three times a year, in fact.)

There are several ways to perform an herbal detox.  You can drink certain herbs as a tea—herbs like senna, dandelion root, and slippery elm.

These herbal teas will both soothe your body and get your bowels back in action and working at the height of their powers.

Or you could take such herbs, or other herbs like milk thistle, in tablet form.  However you take them, these herbs will also get rid of harmful toxins and wastes that can do damage to your internal organs and just make you feel lousy overall.

Also, be aware that certain herbs and certain combinations of herbs can be especially helpful in clearing out certain organs.  For instance, herbs like red beet and parsley can help you target the toxins in your liver, whereas dong quai and goldenseal can be great friends to your kidneys.

Your herbal detox will be especially effective if you are eating healthy foods.  Indeed, a diet full of fruits and veggies will increase your energy levels and make you feel even better.  On the other hand, fatty foods, foods high in sodium and sugar, and red meats will counteract the effects of the herbal detox, making it a little less effective.

Also, exercise—even low levels of exercise—is always a great boost to your vigor and a great way to enhance the results of the herbal detox.  Finally, bear in mind that you should always consult your physician before undergoing an herbal detox (or doing anything to your body that is out of the norm).  This is especially true if you’re on medication.

Herbal Colon Cleanse

An herbal colon cleanse is a method of getting rid of all of the toxins that accumulate over time inside your colon.

Such a cleanse can make you feel better right away, for in clearing out these toxins the cleanse also clears out the problems associated with them, including pain and other bowel issues, headaches, even disorientation.

There are a number of herbs that will work in this procedure, including barberry, ginger, elm, milk thistle and garlic.

Before you have your herbal colon cleanse, talk with your physician to find the right way to go about the process.  Generally, you will want to eat a lot of fruits and raw vegetables for a couple of weeks before the cleanse is to take place.

Grapes, apples, and bananas—especially bananas—are good for clearing out and preparing your system for the cleanse.  Be sure, too, to drink plenty of water in advance, at least eight glasses a day.

Get a good night’s sleep the night before the herbal colon cleanse, and try going for a nice long walk just beforehand.

The herbal colon cleanse itself can take several different forms.  You can make an herbal tea out of cascara sagrada, for instance, or out of slippery elm.   You can make a smoothie out of coconut milk, and fill it with the proper herbs.  You might even opt for an enema.

Don’t be alarmed if you have some mild ailments in the day or two immediate following the herbal colon cleanse.  You might feel tired, or you might feel as though you are coming down with the flu or a bad cold.

All of these maladies will pass within a day or two, three days at the most.  And then you should feel great.  You’ll feel reinvigorated, renewed and full of fresh energy.

Any feelings of lethargy or even depression that you had been experiencing before the cleanse should be washed away.  You may even feel like taking up a new hobby.  And your bowels will be ready to go and working like a dream.
